Draft for PIP — review with PILL counsel before production reliance

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the PILL Parenting Intervention Programme (PIP) website and related services operated by the Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning (“PILL”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using PIP, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

This draft is based on PILL’s published privacy commitments for research participants and standard product rules for PIP. It is not a substitute for formal legal advice. PILL may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Who we are

PILL is a non-profit organization. PIP is an online parenting programme with modules, assessments, and related tools. Visit www.pill.org.pk for more about PILL.

Eligibility and consent

You may create a PIP account if you are 18 or older, or if you are under 18 and a parent or legally authorised guardian has consented to your use of PIP and remains responsible for the account where required.

If you register on behalf of a teenager, you confirm that you are that teenager’s parent or guardian (or have their verified consent) and that the information you provide is accurate. You must not create an account for someone else without authority to do so.

Accounts and registration data

You must provide accurate registration details, including first name, last name, gender, email, and phone number where requested, and keep them up to date.

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

By ticking the signup agreement, you confirm that you have read these Terms and the Privacy Policy and that you accept them.

Not medical advice; emergencies

PIP content is educational and supportive. It is not a diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or emergency care.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, or there is a serious risk of harm, contact local emergency services and appropriate professionals right away. Do not rely on PIP alone in a crisis.

Acceptable use

Use PIP only for lawful purposes. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape or misuse content without permission, share login credentials, upload harmful material, or harass others.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached or if required for safety or legal compliance.

Intellectual property

Modules, text, media, branding, and other PIP materials belong to PILL or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use PIP for its intended parenting-programme purpose. You may not copy, sell, or redistribute programme materials except as we expressly allow.

Privacy and your data

How we collect and use personal data is described in our Privacy Policy (including principles drawn from PILL’s research-participant privacy notice on pill.org.pk). For access, correction, erasure, or other data requests, email dataprotection@pill.org.pk.

PILL does not sell personal data to third parties. We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, consistent with our published privacy practices.

Confidentiality and when we may disclose

We treat personal information carefully. There are limited situations in which confidentiality may be breached without consent, aligned with PILL’s privacy policy, including where there is a serious risk to life (including suicide risk), serious risk to others, serious risk of physical, sexual, or serious emotional abuse or neglect, or where disclosure is required by law.

Third-party services

PIP may use third-party services such as email delivery and optional Facebook login. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for content or practices on third-party sites you choose to use.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep PIP available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change as the programme develops. We may update these Terms; we will post the current version on this page.

Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Courts in Karachi have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
